Jacquelyn Lewis created The Stylish Kind in spring 2014, after working at a major fashion trade publication in New York for three years.

While covering big brands, fashion events, and iconic designers, she discovered another side of the industry -- an innovative, motivated community of independent designers responding to a growing demand for fashion that not only looked good, but also did good -- putting people and animals first. No sweatshops, minimal pollution, no animal products. Just great style.

Jacquelyn was so inspired by this fashion revolution that she transitioned to a cruelty-free, sustainable wardrobe and a vegan lifestyle. With The Stylish Kind, she aims to help other fashion lovers find great looks made with integrity and get to know the creative forces behind the best ethical apparel, beauty, and accessories labels.

Prior to starting The Stylish Kind, Jacquelyn earned a master's degree in publishing from New York University. Her writing has appeared in Women's Wear Daily, Footwear News, New York Magazine, Forbes Traveler, Woman's Day, Time Inc. publications, Artinfo.com, and Bust Magazine. She has also created web content for Hearst Corp. In addition, Jacquelyn volunteers at the ASPCA (and other animal rescue organizations) as a cat and dog cuddler and Adoption Counselor.

Jacquelyn lives in New York with her husband, cat and dog friends, and an overflowing closet. She dreams of owning a Stella McCartney wardrobe and adopting a rescue pig.
