Thirty sustainably-minded, fashion-loving women, tons of tasty organic wine, some seriously awesome swag bags, and enough stylish, gently-used clothing for everyone to take home a heap of exciting apparel and accessories to jump-start their fall wardrobes. Sounds like a dream, but it was the reality at the Fall Fashion Swap in Brooklyn last weekend, hosted by the Ethical Writers Co. and online vintage shop Mode Marteau.
We took a $5 donation at the door from each participant, and these funds went to the Clean Clothes Campaign. Leftover items at the end of the swap were donated to Modavanti Modacyle and Housing Works. We also created an Instagram contest, where the women who snapped our favorite images of the day received either a pair of earrings from Barbara Michelle Jacobs or a gift bag from Magpie New York. Fabulous, right?
Check out the images below for a look at what the swap was like, and if you didn't make it this time, follow Ethical Writers Co. to stay in the know about our upcoming events. In the meantime, why not try hosting your own swap?
